I'm often being asked about Retinol and whether or not I would recommend it.
Firstly, let me explain what it is and what it does.
Retinol improves skin texture and fights signs of aging by speeding up cell turnover and boosting collagen production.
Main Benefits of Retinol
Reduces fine lines and wrinkles: It stimulates collagen and elastin production to plump the skin and smooth out lines.
Accelerates skin cell turnover: It helps the skin shed dead cells faster, revealing a fresher, brighter, and smoother surface.
Evens skin tone: It reduces melanin production to help fade dark spots, hyperpigmentation and sun damage.
Unfortunately, it comes with some pretty hefty side effects. Most commonly, redness, dryness, flaking, irritation, and increased sun sensitivity.
What if I said you could get all of the benefits of Retinol but without the nasty side effects (and without using chemicals on your skin)?
Accelerate Skin Cell Turnover: 2 in 1 Face Exfoliant + Mask
Regular exfoliation can be an important part of a skin-renewing routine, helping to lift away dead surface cells and reveal fresh-looking skin underneath.
The 2 in 1 Face Exfoliant + Mask gives you two ways to treat your skin: use it as an exfoliant to accelerate skin cell turnover and for a smoother-feeling complexion, or leave it on as a mask for a more intensive treatment.
Think of it as: your weekly skin reset.
Evens Skin Tone: Brightening Eye + Skin Serum
For a fresher, more radiant-looking complexion, reach for the Brightening Eye + Skin Serum.
Designed for both the delicate eye area and the rest of the face, this multitasking serum helps support a brighter, more even-looking complexion while keeping skin feeling hydrated and cared for.
Think of it as: your daily dose of luminosity.
Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Ultimate Face Creme
Give your skin the nourishment it deserves with the Ultimate Face Creme - a rich, luxurious moisturiser designed to deeply hydrate and support the skin barrier.
Perfect for when skin is feeling dry, depleted or in need of extra nourishment, this beautiful cream helps support collagen production and leaves skin looking plumped and hydrated.
Think of it as: your nightly nourishment ritual.
You don't need to choose between gentle and effective.
Beautiful skin is about consistency, nourishment and giving your skin what it needs.

As much as I would love everyone to just empty the contents of their beauty cabinet and start fresh, it’s not practical or affordable for many. So given that one of the most common questions I get asked is ‘where should I start when transitioning to organic skincare’, I wanted to lay out my recommendations.
When going organic, I think it’s good to know not only what to start buying but why. That way you can make informed decisions and know that you’re heading in the right direction.

Lying in bed at 3am, desperate for sleep for come over me, is not how I expected to be spending my Thursday nights. But this is how it seems to be at 45. I’m hot, I’ve taken Panadol about 3 hours earlier to no avail, and I’m hearing every animal noise outside my window (which on other nights I would have slept through). I hate this.

When my skin looks and feels good, I feel amazing. But this is not as easily achieved as I get older. The decrease of hormones available in my body in my current state of perimenopause plays a huge factor in how well my skin stays hydrated and how it looks. Progesterone and oestrogen play many roles in the skin’s health, in particular the stimulation of skin sebum (the skin’s natural oils), the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid (which keeps skin thick and plump), and the stability of the skin’s barrier (which affects skin sensitivity, amongst other things).
